Lasea

Luh-see´uh

A city on the south coast of Crete. It is mentioned in (Acts 27:8) as a point beyond which the dangers of proceeding by sea increased dramatically, especially in winter. The coast turns sharply north at that point, bringing open sea winds to bear full force, heightening danger. Lasea is near Fair Havens, modern Limenes Kali.
